Joe’s Nutty Peanut Butter Cookies (via Amy’s Bread)

September 27, 2011

Joe (see watch cookies) informed me that he loves anything peanut butter, so of course it was necessary to provide him with something more to his personal preference in the congratulatory box of baked goods.

In The Sweeter Side of Amy’s Bread, there is this recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies, which has whole peanuts in, but is not an oaty-kitchen-sink type of cookie like most of them, but also not a chewy-typical-fork-mark peanut butter cookies.

It’s pretty superb and I am tempted to make a batch all for myself. I’m not great at being selfish, so I never bake for myself, but if I were to, it would probably be these. They have joined the binder of staple recipes! Oh what a privilege! I have a lamination ceremony and everything!

You know what I have a love/hate relationship with? All-natural peanut butter. While I love not having anything in the ingredients except ‘peanuts’, churning to mix oil is so annoying. It’s fun for about a second and then I realize that the rim on the bottom is a pure solid and there is no saving it.

I hesitate to buy the churner because I know I’ll always use a butter knife anyway. I’m having a female moment where I can’t win and it’s my own fault. Or maybe this is a female moment because my 5-push-up-arms feel some burning during churning.
