Taco Cake

August 18, 2008

Last month (I think) Ryan’s dog passed away in an unfortunate accident. Since he was pretty bummed about it, I wanted to do some something that might cheer him up.

I decided to make him a cake of his favorite food (this is a trend for me). These aren’t the best pictures and I didn’t expect to blog this, so bare with me.

The cake is an 8″ chocolate layer that I cut in half and put together. The outside is fondant with pieces of chocolate crunchies to look a bit more realistic like the corn tortillas. The “meat” is also chocolate crunchies. The cheese is kind of a bad color of yellow, it was frozen fondant that was grated with a regular cheese grater.
