Kaaren’s Baby Shower Part 1
I’m not part of the Daring Bakers, however I do read a ton of food blogs, so often they will do something and I will be enticed. Last summer they had one for Mini Chocolate Pavlovas which I thought would be perfect for my friend Kaaren’s baby shower.
Unfortunately I didn’t realize (like the silly goose that I am) that chocolate mousse is not something you want to transport for an hour in a car that does not have AC in mid-July. So let’s just say that this is by far a very light and awesome dessert, but chocolate desserts do not withstand heat (yea, I know that’s obvious, but I’m slow! Or get excited without thought). It was a huge mess in my car and I didn’t even bother bringing it into the hall. I always wanted to make a Pavlova, but was skeptical to make one big one, so this was a good introduction to the dessert.
Her adorable sisters threw her a candy themed shower, so they had marshmallow center pieces and tons of fun games to keep the fun coming.
Isn’t Kaaren the cutest in her hat? I made little displays so people knew what they were eating. My favorite Snickerdoodle and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie recipes made it to the table.
The baby and I now share birthdays that are less than a week apart, she’ll be a year old later this year. Oh my goodness time passes quickly.
